Use of the Platform

FilmAssist provides tools, directories, project workflows, media features, professional networking resources, production support services, educational resources, affiliate features, and related services for filmmakers, cast, crew, vendors, producers, creators, companies, affiliates, and production teams.

FilmAssist may introduce additional services, tools, educational resources, production support systems, workflow management tools, financing resources, distribution opportunities, content showcase services, subscription programs, marketplace functionality, and related platform features at its discretion.

Accounts

You are responsible for keeping your login information secure and for all activity that occurs through your account. You agree to provide accurate account, listing, profile, payment, project, and contact information and to update that information when needed.

User Interactions, Projects, and Collaborations

FilmAssist serves as a platform that facilitates introductions, workflow tools, project support services, professional networking, educational resources, and related production assistance. FilmAssist does not guarantee the quality, completion, legality, safety, conduct, financial performance, success, or outcome of any project, production, collaboration, employment opportunity, service provider relationship, investor relationship, or professional engagement occurring through the platform.

Users are solely responsible for evaluating collaborators, vendors, opportunities, agreements, working relationships, payment arrangements, financing discussions, production decisions, and professional engagements. FilmAssist is not responsible for disputes, losses, claims, damages, or failed expectations arising from user-to-user interactions or project participation.

Listings, Projects, and Submitted Content

You are responsible for the content you submit, including business listings, project information, screenplays, treatments, pitch decks, production documents, music, videos, messages, reviews, profile details, and other materials. You confirm that you have the rights, permissions, and authority needed to submit, upload, display, share, or use that content through FilmAssist.

FilmAssist may remove or restrict content that appears unlawful, misleading, harmful, infringing, abusive, inappropriate, or inconsistent with platform policies.

Intellectual Property and Creative Submissions

Users retain ownership of all screenplay submissions, project concepts, treatments, pitch materials, production documents, music, and other creative works uploaded to FilmAssist. FilmAssist does not claim ownership of user-submitted intellectual property except as necessary to provide platform services and functionality.

By submitting content to FilmAssist, you grant FilmAssist a limited, non-exclusive license to host, store, process, display, transmit, format, reproduce, and use that content only as needed to operate the platform, provide requested services, support collaboration workflows, display public listings or profiles you choose to publish, and maintain related platform functionality.

Copyright and Content Protection

FilmAssist respects intellectual property rights and expects users to do the same. As user-generated content grows, FilmAssist may implement copyright complaint procedures, DMCA takedown procedures, content dispute resolution processes, and repeat infringement policies.

If you believe content on FilmAssist infringes your rights, contact FilmAssist support with enough information to identify the content, explain the claimed infringement, and verify your authority to submit the request.

Music Licensing

Music made available through FilmAssist may be subject to separate licensing agreements, publishing rights, synchronization restrictions, territorial limitations, usage limitations, and project-specific licensing terms. Users are responsible for complying with all applicable licensing requirements associated with music obtained through the platform.

Consultations and Advisory Services

Script reviews, project evaluations, consultations, production guidance, and related advisory services are provided for informational and educational purposes only. FilmAssist does not guarantee financing, distribution, employment, production approval, business success, project completion, or any specific outcome resulting from such services.

Any feedback, notes, recommendations, strategy guidance, or production-related advice should be evaluated independently by the user. Users remain responsible for their own creative, business, legal, financial, production, and distribution decisions.

Verification Features

Verification status indicates that certain information has been reviewed by FilmAssist but does not constitute endorsement, certification, guarantee, warranty, or representation regarding any user, company, service provider, project, or opportunity.

Users should perform their own due diligence before hiring, collaborating with, investing in, contracting with, or relying on any verified or unverified user, company, service provider, listing, project, or opportunity.

Payments, Subscriptions, and Affiliate Features

Paid features, plans, subscriptions, commissions, affiliate payments, store purchases, consultations, script reviews, project evaluations, and other professional services may be governed by additional terms shown during checkout or inside the related dashboard.

Affiliate commissions, payouts, bonus pools, referrals, revenue shares, and related financial features may be subject to eligibility requirements, verification, holding periods, fraud review, payment processor rules, and additional platform policies.

Refunds and Cancellations

Refund and cancellation eligibility may vary based on the type of product, subscription, consultation, script review, project evaluation, marketplace purchase, or professional service ordered.

• Consultations may require advance notice for cancellation or rescheduling.
• No-shows or late cancellations may be non-refundable.
• Completed services, delivered script reviews, delivered project evaluations, and fulfilled consultation work may be non-refundable.
• Rescheduling requests may be approved or denied at FilmAssist's discretion based on availability and timing.
• Subscription cancellations generally stop future billing but may not automatically refund prior payments unless otherwise stated.
• Refunds, when approved, may be processed through the original payment method and may be subject to payment processor timing and restrictions.

FilmAssist may publish more specific refund, cancellation, rescheduling, delivery, and no-show policies for individual services or checkout flows.

Acceptable Use

• Do not submit unlawful, misleading, harmful, abusive, fraudulent, defamatory, or infringing content.
• Do not attempt to access accounts, dashboards, data, files, payment systems, or platform areas you are not authorized to use.
• Do not abuse messaging, outreach, review, directory, affiliate, project, consultation, upload, or collaboration features.
• Do not impersonate another person, company, project, investor, vendor, producer, representative, or organization.
• Do not use FilmAssist to misrepresent financing, employment, distribution, production, investment, or business opportunities.

No Legal, Financial, or Investment Advice

FilmAssist does not provide legal, tax, accounting, financial, investment, insurance, union, securities, or professional licensing advice. Users should consult qualified professionals before making legal, financial, investment, employment, production, distribution, or business decisions.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, FilmAssist is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, lost profit, lost opportunity, lost data, reputational, production-related, collaboration-related, or business interruption damages arising from use of the platform or participation in projects, services, listings, consultations, affiliate programs, marketplace activity, or user interactions.

Changes

FilmAssist may update these terms as the platform evolves. Continued use of the platform after updates means you accept the revised terms.
